Music theory is the study of the structure of music. Or more simply put, it’s the language used to talk about the music we hear and play. Learning music theory is one of the most important things a musician can do as it helps them to not only become better performers, but also have a better understanding of the music they are playing and hearing. It also makes musical activities such as performing, composing, improvising, arranging, teaching music, or getting a music degree much easier once one gains a basic understanding of music theory.
We also prepare students for “Musikhochschule” and conservatory entrance exams.
Music theory, aural training and rehearsing technique. In music theory and aural training you will focus on questions that will be very similar in style and difficulty level to the entrance examination of “Musikhochschule”. We will discuss the answers together. Additionally, you will be given advice on how to practice on your own.
In our experience, participating in the entrance examination check as preparation for your actual entrance examination is time wisely invested, particularly if you wish to apply for the Instrument, Singing, Composition, Jazz and Pop Bachelor degree program.
